The instructors have taught digital media at Harvard, RISD, Auburn and LSU and worked in top design firms such as Hargreaves Associates, Martha Schwartz Inc., Geller-Devellis, and Browlie + Lee.

Brad Cantrell

Brad Cantrell has taught digital media in a number of different settings, including classes at the Harvard Design School and the Rhode Island School of Design. Brad has an undergraduate degree in landscape architecture from the University of Kentucky and a graduate degree in landscape architecture from the Harvard Design School, where he received the Digital Design Prize in 2003 for his accomplishments in digital media. Currently Brad is an assistant professor of landscape architecture at Louisiana State University teaching advanced digital media courses and design studios.

Brad has over 5 years professional experience creating 3d visualizations of both architecture and landscape architecture while working for one of the top firms in New England, Geller DeVellis of Boston. The office was recently named a finalist in the Logan Airport Memorial Competition, a project in which he led both the design team and the visualization efforts. In addition to his work in a professional office, Brad has worked on many digital media projects as an independent consultant, including work in 3d visualization, illustrative plan graphics and interactive Flash applications for the web. This work includes collaborations with Harvard’s Center for Design Informatics on the United States runner up entry for the Sustainable Cities Competition.

Wes Michaels

Wes Michaels is a registered landscape architect with over 10 years private practice experience working at some of the top firms in the country, including Brownlie + Lee in Honolulu, Martha Schwartz, Inc. and Hargreaves Associates, both of Cambridge, MA. Wes was the head of the CAD department at Brownlie + Lee and head of technology at Martha Schwartz, Inc. At Martha Schwartz, Inc, he was in charge of directing the transition between a paper-based office and a digital-based office. At Hargreaves Associates, Wes worked on design and 3d visualization projects for the University of Cincinnati.

Wes received an undergraduate degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia and a graduate degree in landscape architecture from the Harvard Design School. He has taught digital media at Auburn University, including core representation techniques using AutoCAD, Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as construction-based digital courses using AutoDesk’s Land Development Desktop. Currently Wes is an assistant professor at Louisiana State University teaching digital media courses and graduate level design studios.

Wes has recently been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to teach digital media techniques in Estonia during the Spring 2009 academic semester.
